Questions parents ask us.

What age can my child join?
The Oddly Crew is open to young people aged 13–17. Every account requires a linked parent or guardian account — your child cannot join without you.
What if something goes wrong during a job?
Your child has a "Need Help" button on every active job. Tapping it immediately notifies you with their location and lets them pause the job. You can contact them or the neighbour directly through the app.
How do I know the neighbour is safe?
Every neighbour verifies their identity and address before posting a job. You see their full profile — including community years, completed jobs hosted, and endorsements from other verified families — before approving. You can decline any employer, any time, for any reason.
What jobs are allowed?
Jobs are limited to outdoor and community-facing tasks — lawn mowing, dog walking, car washing, garden tidying, grocery carrying, snow clearing, and similar. No indoor unsupervised jobs at launch.
How does payment work?
The neighbour pays upfront before the job starts. Funds are held securely by Oddly and released to your child only when the job is confirmed complete. You see the agreed price before approving. Your child always receives 100% of the agreed amount.
What happens to negative feedback?
All feedback is reviewed by Oddly before your child sees it. Harsh or unfair reviews are rewritten into constructive, developmental language. There are no star ratings. Your child will never see a crushing review — only encouragement and specific things to improve.
Is Oddly free?
Yes — free to join for the Oddly Crew and parents. Neighbours pay a small 5% platform fee on top of the agreed job price. Your child always receives the full agreed amount.
